Safeguarding quick reference

⚠ Immediate danger?

If a student is at risk of imminent harm, call local emergency services (112 in the EU, 911 in the US, 999 in the UK). Whispr is not an emergency channel.

Bullying

School counselor → assistant principal. Involve parents/guardians if a pattern is observed. Document witness accounts.

Harassment

Designated safeguarding lead + counselor. Document everything. Consider local-authority notification under your safeguarding policy.

Cyber Safety

IT + counselor. Save screenshots from the report. Do not engage with the source. Block / report to platform if appropriate.

Vandalism

Facilities + principal. Preserve the scene. Severe or repeated incidents — consider local police.

Whispr is a reporting tool. It is not a safeguarding service, not an emergency channel, and not a substitute for your school's duty of care. Schools must keep their own response protocol up to date.

Record Oral Intake

Document an in-person or phone report per EU Directive 2019/1937 Art. 9(2) and D.Lgs. 24/2023 Art. 4. The reporter's identity will be protected. Document an in-person verbal report from a student or staff member. The reporter has the right to know their words are being logged.

Compliance Notice — D.Lgs. 24/2023

Oral reports must be documented with the reporter's consent (Art. 4). Before recording, confirm you have informed the reporter of their rights, the confidentiality protections, and the anti-retaliation safeguards. A verbatim transcript or summary should be reviewed and signed-off where possible.

Safeguarding reminder

If the report describes a child at imminent risk, follow your school's safeguarding policy and contact local emergency services before recording. Use this form only for non-urgent verbal disclosures the reporter has agreed to log.
